This is a hands-on position in the company in Seattle, WA

Here at company we create practical sustainable energy products to help people live a life without limits. In a pioneering partnership with a leading research university we built our own patented lithium production process. We’ve put our know-how into building a better battery, we brought it to market, a movement has been built, and we need your help engineering our next generation of batteries.

The Team:

The engineering team at company is seeking a motivated, curious Electrical Engineering Technician to help us power the future. We work internally and collaborate with business customers on lithium battery systems and accessories for applications ranging from hobby projects to vehicle propulsion to distributed energy storage.

Your Roll:

As the Electrical Engineering Technician you will report to the Engineering Project Manager. You will get your hands dirty in the shop building, breaking, and tinkering with our most cutting-edge proto-products. This job will be diverse and hands-on. You will

● Prototype new battery modules, battery packs, and electrical accessories

● Test and characterize Electrical Engineering prototypes

● Implement quality control tests for new and existing products per ISO 9001 standards (we’ll train you in ISO 9001).

● Assist in development and testing of new product features and capabilities

● Work with the company team and customers on advanced batteries and battery features

● Tinker on novel energy storage systems in our South Seattle shop alongside our Support and Quality Technicians.

This role is hands on Electrical Engineering in a dynamic environment. You will be testing, building, and disassembling various battery prototypes. Experience with electricity, electrical systems, and/or battery systems is required. You must be good at following safety checklists and managing risks when playing with electricity.

Who You Are:

· Curious and solution-oriented with a strong bias towards action.

· You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering – OR - Associates degree with practical experience as an electronics technician, electrician, battery technician or similar level of education and experience.

· You have excellent communication skills. You are good at sharing data in a precise way while valuing the people and relationships that make your job fun.

· You have a deep understanding of electricity and electronics.

· You have a broad skill base of Electrical Engineering skills. Experience with some of the following is preferred: high voltage, battery systems, hand and power tools, electronics lab tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, PCB troubleshooting, metrology and data acquisition, coding/scripting, documentation, serial, Bluetooth, and/or WiFi communications, manufacturing, firmware.

· You’re motivated to learn and grow. You see physical, hand on prototyping work and quality control testing as the foundation of a successful career in Electrical Engineering.

· You look to solve problems yourself. You don’t wait for someone else to fix the problem, you identify the issue, record the data, and find a solution. You love the recognition you get when you share a problem after you solved it.

· You’re a doer, a go getter, the person who doesn’t just pull their weight, but the fixer who everyone else comes to when they know something is important and it needs to get done right.

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician

● Reports to the Engineering Project Manager

● Weekly hours: Salaried position with 40 hours a week, M-F weekdays preferred.

Compensation Package

Salary: This is a full-time exempt, salaried position (40 hours per week).

● Salary of $55,000 – $75,000 a year DOE.

● Revenue sharing bonus.

o Eligible after 3 months of employment for a monthly sales team growth bonus (range $3,000 - $10,000/yr)

● Benefits:

o Three weeks of paid time off (PTO) a year (equal to 120 hours). At 3 years PTO increases to a month off (160 hrs). At 5 years increases to five weeks off (200 hrs).

o Company paid medical (Premera Blue Cross) & dental (Delta Dental) insurance.

o 401K retirement plan. 100% vested upon hire (that means you own what goes into it).

o $1,000 credit towards a Hilltopper electric bike or kit, plus 50% discount on e-bikes for friends & family (limit 2/yr)
