Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in research operating environments to develop new strategies which will provide faster pathways to new product development and improved reliability.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control inspections.
- ITS master plan development.
- ITS cost research.
- Power distribution plan development.
- System modeling with Synergi.
- Assisting with strategic initiatives for DERs and Advanced Grid.
- Support of different departments including design, engineering, and construction.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform routine testing, troubleshooting, debugging, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
- Use routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators, and similar test apparatus.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent command of the English language; second foreign language is appreciated.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a diverse team setting.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Computer design experience in CAD modeling (AutoCAD, Draft Sight, and SolidWorks) preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles, methodologies, and procedures.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Educational/Training Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education is required.
- Currently enrolled in a four (4) year Bachelor’s program majoring in Electrical Engineering.
- Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program with at least two (2) years of post-secondary education.

Physical Requirements:
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Periods working on feet, standing, and walking throughout the work area on a regular basis, using tools, and performing repetitive actions.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
- Must be able to lift between thirty-five (35) to fifty (50) pounds at a time.
- Ability to communicate with team members.
- Work environment temperatures vary and may include extreme heat or cold based on outside temperatures.

Schedule:
- Summer hours (8-hour shift)
- Monday through Friday
- Length of service is flexible, but typically will be approximately May to mid-August
Job Type: Internship
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
