Position Summary: The Shape Corp student engineering program provides students with the opportunity to gain exposure to the manufacturing process in a variety of engineering disciplines. Students can enhance their college experience by working in a challenging and dynamic workplace, gaining invaluable experience for next steps in their careers.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
* Application of engineering calculations.
* Manage projects across multiple disciplines within Shape.
* Create technical documents summarizing data analysis and conclusions.
* Ability to present technical information.
* Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, not otherwise specified in this position description.
Electrical Engineering Focus
* Update electrical schematics and process revisions to machine control systems.
* Design and implement PLC/Operator interface programs using GE-Fanuc and Allen-Bradley software, or toerh company specific software as needed.
* Support manufacturing production by leading troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
* Develop work instructions for machines and production operations.
* Design and integrate controls for simple process improvements.
* Design electrical schematics including 480V -- 3 Phase distributions, safety systems, communication wiring and low voltage signal diagrams using CAD software.
Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, not otherwise specified in this position description.
Requirements
Education Experience
* Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree within an accredited program seeking degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other relevant science or engineering field.
* 3.0 GPA or higher on 4.0 GPA scale, strongly preferred.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
* Able to work independently and with a team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills.
