Internship Overview: The R&D Intern in Electrical Engineering will work as part of a team to develop and evaluate new hardware designs against the product specifications and simulations.

We are looking for an individual comfortable with iterative design and testing failure who can methodically evaluate the task at hand to find creative solutions using combinations of hardware, software and lab equipment.

What you will do:

You will work closely with an experienced Research Engineers to develop and implement test plans for embedded hardware. This will include the following major tasks:

• Development and testing of prototype hardware
• Execution of testing plans using standard lab instruments.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues found in the unit under test, the test software, and/or the test hardware.

Required Education & Experience:

• Sophomore level standing or higher in engineering course work leading to a Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering discipline from a four-year college or university

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Working knowledge of the C programming language for embedded processors
• Familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working hands on with electronics
• PCB design knowledge including schematic development, circuit simulation, and board layout.
• Knowledge of modeling analog and mixed signal circuits with simulation and/or analysis software.
• Knowledge of low noise analog circuit design.
• Knowledge of PCB design software.
• Knowledge of ARM microcontrollers, ADC’s, DAC’s and opamps.
• PC software experience (C or Python)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8 hrs/day.
