Job Summary
Patrick Engineering, A RINA company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern. Under close supervision, the Intern provides junior level support during the development of designs and technical systems. The Intern will work on a variety of tasks to help the team ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Through mentoring and coaching, the Intern will learn the professional application of Electrical Engineering principles and be exposed to the different stages of a project life cycle.
Primary Responsibilities
- Under close supervision of a licensed engineer, assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Support a team of engineers by organizing and reviewing information received from clients and identifying what is to be requested.
- Provide support in writing technical specifications and conducting research on relevant issues.
- Perform field work by obtaining field information, conducting inspections and studies with other engineers, as directed.
- Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating relevant project activities, progress, and associated data.
- Utilize computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Requirements
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate level degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to produce high quality outputs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Additional Preferences
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel to client job sites may be required based upon business needs.
