Tri-Mation has a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Designer in electrical design building. This position designs and develops controls systems for customer equipment, including panel design and layout, bill or materials and wiring schematics; support development of software interfaces, user interfaces and data collection systems; identify customer requirements, review design specifications, technical drawing and research suitable solutions.
Must Haves:
- Must have at least 2 years of electrical design building experience
- Must have thorough understanding of electrical relationships such as voltage, current, power, and AC/DC
- Working knowledge of motors, VFDs, sensors and instrumentation, and safety circuits
- Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes
- Experience with electronic circuitry and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of panel wiring and control panel fabrication and assembly
- Knowledge of electronic circuit troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of creating macros and formulas in electrical design software
- Machine programming practices including; PLC Programming and ladder logic (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- Self-starter who is comfortable working with others and can provide communication of potential problems
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and is authorized to work in the US
- Preferred experience with electrical design software i.e. Eplan, but willing to train
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1) Support Assembly and Controls Dept. with development, design and implementation, prioritization of work and execution of projects delivered on-time; 2) Read, interpret and understand electrical schematics and drawings including identifying parts to drawing, symbol recognition and material recognition; 3) Assist build assemblies, sub-assemblies, segments of machines and construct/assist in constructing standalone machines and/or large integrated systems; 4) Assemble and update equipment from drawings and / or verbal instructions; 5) Create electrical drawings and schematics; 6) Coordinate layout and design of electrical systems; 7) Perform research and selection of electrical components; 8) Complete bills of material for electrical systems; 9) Testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems; 10) Travel less than 5%; same day and overnight; may have occasional international travel.
