SUMMARY
The Electrical Component Engineer is a part of the North American HVAC Electrical Component Engineering Group. This group works with a diverse vehicle manufacturing customer base including passenger vehicle manufacturers, electrical vehicle start-ups, and commercial vehicle manufacturers. The group interfaces with the MAHLE Global Electrical Engineering Organization and a world-wide supplier network of to achieve the best results for the customer.
The HVAC Electrical Component Engineer supports MAHLE's North American HVAC module business unit. The Electrical Component Engineer works with HVAC engineering teams to understand customer requirements and select the proper Electrical Components for the application. They continue to support the project through development and series production activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead design, development, validation and application of electrical and electronic components into HVAC subsystems
- Apply good engineering discipline (Author engineering specifications, Validation Planning, and best practices) in working with suppliers.
- Trouble shoot and problem-solving failures from validation and/or field returns to improve quality.
- Program manager for component supplier deliverables through sourcing, tooling, validation, and launch
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 2-5 years experience
- Knowledge of validation testing and planning
- Good problem-solving skills
- The following experience is a plus
- Knowledge of HVAC concepts
- Automotive Industry
- Applying Electrical Components/systems particularly small motors (brushed and brushless)
