SUMMARY
This job encompasses all aspects of electric/electronic assemblies which can include any of the following: circuit boards, PCA components, Jet powers, Potable Water units, Bridge consoles, etc. Testing, troubleshooting, repairs and rework may also be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Must be able to use hand tools used including meters and test equipment if required.
  • Using electrical drawings and schematics to properly assemble the unit.
  • Must be able to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring drawings.
  • Assembles all subassemblies and components onto the unit's main frame (case, console, etc.); or the circuit board or cables, etc.
  • Prepares all related paperwork and closes work orders in MRP.
  • Applies identification tags or markings to the necessary products.
  • Self inspection of work performed.
  • Maybe required to assist in training of new employees in classification.
  • Using wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, instructions and thorough knowledge of electrical and electronics troubleshoots and tests components and assemblies. Identifies and corrects problems.
  • Replaces bad components or parts on electrical and electronic assemblies.
  • Tracks problems and seeks solutions to them.
  • Must have knowledge of conduit installation and control.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or hire date before 5/10/96.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16".
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Maybe required to obtain forklift or overhead crane licenses. May be required to pass a soldering test.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic knowledge of Syteline, Team Center and other programs as necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
