Job Summary:
Full time apprentice / trainee to assist in the installation of a variety of Electrical and HVAC systems for residential, multifamily, and light commercial applications and install basic circuitry with limited supervision.
Specific Responsibilities:
- All requirements of Apprentice 1
Develop the ability to fire off, test, and troubleshoot electrical components
- Develop an understanding of how individual systems are coordinated and installed
- Learn to compile an accurate materials list and submit requests in a timely manner in order to avoid project
delays.
- Employee to provide more complete hand and battery power tools needed to be able to work independently
with supervision.
- Learn to communicate clearly about the projects and company operations to customers and coworkers
- Ensure all materials ordered for a project have been accounted for and loaded before leaving the warehouse
- Maintain accurate job costing on projects
- Maintain full truck stock as required by current stock list
- Communicate tool and stock deficiencies/repairs needed and help warehouse facilitate repair/upkeep.
- Maintain company vehicle regular washing/oil changes/repairs as they arise.
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required. AA or trade school certification or diploma preferred
- Minimum 1000 hours of experience
- Valid Washington State driver’s license
- Current electrical training card
- Current CPR certification
- Maintain 24 hour in class CEU requirement, without lapse in training card.
- Actively participate in training opportunities independently, through vendors and offered by Cardinal.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Be able to pull a basic HVAC circuit, wire in breaker and install disconnect with limited supervision
- Be able to start/finish most electrical installs with limited supervision.
basic electric components, and beging to develop a a basic understanding of NEC code requirements
- Develop deeper knowledge in electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Learn how to trim out and rough in electrical components, hookup and test related equipment
- Have wide range of knowledge in power tools and basic residential building structural and code requirements.
- Be able to install gas piping for generator, and underground sleeving for electrical components.
- Developing the ability to size and understand load requirements for electrical circuitry.
- Work with efficiency and an overall understanding of budget requirements
- Begin to understand and communicate electrical and HVAC conversions
- Use code knowledge to verify compliance to ensure satisfactory inspection results.
- Develop broader assembly skills for HVAC systems such as flue venting, duct installation and sealing, brazing and sweating as required or as opportunity arises. Begin to acquire relevant tools.
- Understand basic low voltage wiring and programming for HVAC systems.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be physically fit and capable of routine lifting of up to 50 lbs. with occasional weights over 100 lbs.
· Must be able to walk, bend and crawl for on-site duties.
· You must be able to clearly communicate in person, in writing, and on the phone.
· Must be able to perform the responsibilities of the job description.
· Wear company provided uniform at all times while at work.

Cardinal Heating & Air offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, life, disability,
paid vacation, and 401K. Compensation is dependent upon experience.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
