Jenkins Electric, a Charlotte-based electro-mechanical repair company, is looking for an experienced Electric Motor Mechanic to join our fast-growing team. Mechanics are responsible for disassembly and inspection of AC and DC motors. Mechanics maintains associated facility, workspace, tools, and machinery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Dismantle, clean, and inspect AC and DC motors. Perform megger, surge, hi-pot, and growler testing.
· Willing to work overtime and travel as needed
· Complete assigned projects within a reasonably expectable range of hours, while maintaining a high level of workmanship.
· Provide timely feedback to department manager regarding schedule delays and workload issues.
· Perform regular maintenance on the associated facility equipment, tools, and machinery. Leave shared equipment clean and operational after use.
· Maintain and secure work tools. Return shared tools to their proper location after use.
· Notify department foreman of equipment, tooling, and material needs in a timely fashion.
· Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.

· Willing to perform other tasks (not listed above) as assigned by the Foremen. An attitude of “that’s not my job” conflicts with our goal of serving our customers in a timely manner, and will not be tolerated.
· Share knowledge with co-workers that will help them complete their projects efficiently and accurately.
· Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with co-workers.
· Maintain a record of consistent attendance, stay on task during work hours, and be willing to work overtime when asked by the department foreman. (Attendance Expectation: M-F 7am – 3:30pm)
· Provide feedback to company management on areas where improvements can be made.
· Represent the company favorably in interactions with customers and vendors.
· Perform all activities using proper safety equipment and procedures. Provide feedback to company management regarding unsafe equipment and procedures as appropriate.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
·Minimum of 5 years experience
· Basic reading, writing, and some advanced measurement and arithmetic skills.
· Ability to use the following tools: electrical test tools, test panel, drill press, hoist, and forklift.
· Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics/diagrams/data sheets.
· Physical coordination required for forming coils and operating computer controls on equipment.
· Ability to lift 30 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Working conditions are typical for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 30 lbs. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment including, but not limited to; safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and ear protection. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
