Essential Functions
- Serves as the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) for mandated ACCESS for ELs 2.0, Kindergarten ACCESS, and Alternate ACCESS state testing under the guidance of the English Language Development Department. Coordinates, plans, and organizes all required assessments.
- Supports continuous language development assessment and improvement of student learning through hands-on training and professional development around data for multilinguals.
- Leads development, organization, and analysis of student learning outcomes from language development assessments.
- Interprets assessment findings and prepares reports to summarize findings and assists building leadership and teachers of multilinguals to make instructional decisions that impact the language growth and academic achievement of multilinguals.
- Conducts data reviews in selected schools and provides follow-up assistance and professional development based on areas of need.
- Works with district leadership to coordinate efforts for data-management services in schools so that there can be a cohesive, sustained, intensive, and classroom-focused approach.
- Works collaboratively with school and district personnel on all aspects of professional development, program monitoring, special requests for assistance.
- Supports the successful alignment and implementation of school and district priorities.
- Attend, as necessary and appropriate, training sessions and site meetings related to assigned responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state and federal laws.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred
- ELD K-12 Program Specialist certification.
- 5+ years classroom teaching experience and experience using and/or administering ELD related assessments.
