Overview
The EKG Technician performs and processes 12 lead EKGs and places holter monitor application. There will be additional on the job training is available.
What you will do
- Operates imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images or conduct tests. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
- Prepares and maintains diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Checks the electrical activity of a patient's heart, looking for abnormalities and causes of heart disease and heart attach symptoms. Performs EKG tests and collaborates with physician on results.
- Educates the patient on the procedure and answers questions. Positions and prepares the patient for the procedure.
- Maintains a safe environment by complying with RHS policies/procedures/regulatory requirements that support the National Patient Safety Goals and Quality Initiatives. Recognizes and reports variances and provides resolutions. Uses appropriate protective equipment, body mechanics and follows safety guidelines and procedures; identifies and acts to resolve variances or suspected non-compliance to management.
Qualifications
Education
- Program Graduate, EKG Program or equivalent on-the-job training (Required)
Experience
- 1 year Medical experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
