Graduation from one of the following accredited programs, including EKG Interpretation:
o Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training), or
o Medical Assistant or
o Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
AND
● Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities. 3 years of experience is preferred.
Job Duties:
This complex position is responsible for performing remote surveillance for multiple locations, specific to
cardio-pulmonary rhythms via a central monitoring station, and for recognizing, recording and reporting potentially
dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established standards and procedures per applicable regulatory
requirements. Work is primarily performed in a centralized monitoring unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Each Technician can potentially watch up to 60 patients due to the highly advanced IT technology capabilities.
The incumbent will accurately recognize cardiac rhythms and follow command center policy. Accurately take appropriate action and follow established protocols in notifying local RN staff of changes in cardiac rhythm and arrhythmias. The incumbent is expected to follow proper communication channels in handling routine and emergency situations; follow established protocols/procedures; have awareness of and strive to improve patient outcomes and department metrics.
Experience or 'Must have' skills Successful completion of a Basic EKG test prior to starting.
