Summary: Conducts and administers all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for TAKIGAWA Corporation America with the intent to reduce the risk of injuries, environmental releases and to maintain regulatory compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Continuously improve the EHS program, policies, standards, guidelines, and management systems.
-Provide technical support and regulatory interpretation on EHS issues, including EHS law and regulations as well as company policies, standard guidelines, and goals.
-Maintains and tracks the site's EHS training plan and program and provides training to employees at all levels of the organization.
-Monitors and analyzes key EHS performance metrics to measure progress and trends.
-Consults and advises the organization concerning site EHS policies, management systems, and risks that may require attention and action.
-Conducts EHS audits and inspections to provide assurance that management systems are in place and the facility is following all laws, regulations, and company policies.
-Leads and actively participates in EHS subcommittees, team audits, and incident investigations.
-Ensures that all permits and reporting are submitted to the necessary authorities for EHS related items.
-Assures that required EHS records and documents are maintained and up to date.
-Stays current on safety and environmental technical and regulatory issues.
-Ensures good communication of safety matters across the facility.
-Works as a team player to guide all team members and management staff in following all safety and PPE requirements.
Education and Experience
-High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree, Technical Degree or certification preferred.
-Manufacturing 5+ years in relevant role of environmental, health and safety aspect.
-Experience in preparing and delivering hands on training (priority).
-Experience in the food grade industry preferred.
-Experienced in emergency response; have or obtain a current First Aid and CPR certificate.
-Experienced in lockout/tagout, electrical safety, hearing protection, respiratory protection, hazard-
communication, hazardous waste operations (HAZWOPER), and blood borne pathogens.
-OSHA 300 Training
