Description:
Coordinates and conducts a variety of environmental, health and safety activities, including employee training and field-wide inspections. Promotes EHS management systems, procedures, and programs. Fosters a safety and environmentally focused company culture.
Responsibilities
- Promotes safety and environmental policies by conducting and participating in monthly EHS training at field locations, and as needed at job-specific locations.
- Support and advise Production, Drilling, Completions, and Workover teams in all EHS matters.
- Conduct and communicate site audits and inspections across Production, Drilling, Completions, and Workover operations to ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Crosstrain with other Field HSE Representatives to share D&C knowledge and develop production operations expertise.
- Assists EHS staff with due diligence and environmental remediation projects.
- Files and maintains annual Tier II reports.
- Assists the EHS department in performing internal and regulatory agency audits and inspections, including SPCC and LDAR inspections.
- Maintains area specific SPCC, LDAR, and GHG monitoring plans.
- Assist with local, state, and federal regulatory filings as necessary.
- Provide technical/process safety guidance for Process Safety Management (PSM) Facilities.
- Maintain Veriforce compliance.
- Make recommendations after anticipating work/project requirements and consider business impact and risks.
- Assists EHS department with risk management, incident investigations, and reporting.
- Works closely with Operations personnel and promotes a good working relationship.
- Ability to work flexible hours during times of increased work activity.
- Supports on-call EHS efforts during off hours as needed.
- Maintains employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Acquires and maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Five (5+) years minimum regulatory and environmental oil and gas experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or college required. Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
- PSM experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Basic Understanding of the Federal, State and Local OSHA & DOT rules and regulations
- Preferred experience with regulations in Texas and Louisiana.
