Wieland Provides is hiring an EHS Coordinatorto join the team! The role of the EHS Coordinator will be responsible for creating and enforcing a culture of safety within Wieland. This person will assist with the implementation of programs, development of policies, and conduct assessments to ensure Wieland is meeting compliance with all local, federal and company health and safety rules. The EHS Coordinator will function as part of a leadership team, and will work closely with production, process engineering, and the maintenance department at Wieland Provides.

This role will be located at our facility in Verona, VA and be required to be onsite.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (Day shift) 7:30am-4pm

 

EHS Coordinator Job Duties:

  • Develops, publishes and raises general level of awareness of safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations
  • Conducts hazard and job safety analysis to ensure proper use of machinery and equipment, personal protective equipment, and procedures.
  • Develops, oversees and performs training of employees/contract associates, managers/supervisors and other employees in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements and specific job requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance of documentation and review of work procedures and machine safety to ensure compliance with OSHA.
  • Work with and maintain different types of onsite waste water treatment systems, including chemicals, sampling, and minor mechanical tasks.
  • Facilitates EHS incident reporting software, assessing root causes, and working cross - functionally to resolve.
  • Develops, reviews and revises company standards, policies and practices as necessary to ensure they are current and in concert with company and / or regulatory requirements such as OSHA and ISO Standards.
  • Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigates observations, close calls and incidents to ascertain causes in order to develop preventive safety measures and programs with a heavy focus on a behavioral based safety approach.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) of all positions and update the JHA’s as needed.
  • Develop and promote safety trainings, culture initiatives and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel for additional training to enhance skills and continue education.
