As an employee at MEC, you will provide support to manufacturing operations by overseeing and executing MEC's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment, complying with all local, federal, and company requirements.

- Ensure adherence to current MEC policies and procedures in addition to suggesting updates as needed to comply with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits with department heads and ensure that current Environmental plans are adequate for each area, in addition to Machine Guarding, PPE, and Hazard Assessments.
- Develop and Lead a Safety Committee/Team at each location with cross functional representation from Manufacturing.
- Develop, maintain and deliver effective safety training (A power user of Power Point and Excel)
- Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses to determine appropriate corrective or preventative measures are implemented and follow up to ensure measures are communicated across all shifts and sustained (Formal experience with Root Cause Analysis and 8D problem solving)
- Review all accident reports and is involved in the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
- Utilize Industry Safe, Sentry Insurance and M3 to pull past incident/accident history to identify trends and develop an action plan to target and reduce/eliminate these incidents going forward. (Experience with these a plus)
- Present the safety portion of Orientation in Mayville and represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
- Ensure all required safety training is evaluated, updated and adequately covered in a way that connects with our employees in addition to maintaining these training records.
- Lead the facility Hazard Recognition Team and facilitate team meetings.
- Coordinates Industrial Hygiene sampling for air, noise, and other environmental exposure.
- Partner with outside Environmental services to plan and administer compliance efforts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in safety or related field; three years' experience in manufacturing; knowledge of paint and coating processes a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience leading ISO 14001.
Will require travel to our Bedford, PA site 25 to 50% (1 to 2 weeks per month) w/ responsibility for both plants.
