Egg Packer

Job Summary:

The Packer position is responsible for palletizing eggs to ensure safe loading into semi-trailer for transportation to the Breaking Plant. This is a HEAVY LIFTING position. This position requires workers to lift and stack 50 lb. cartons at a high rate of speed continuously, while standing on unpadded concrete flooring.

Essential Job Functions:

Packing:

1. Responsible for palletizing flats.

2. Inspect and remove broken eggs.

3. Place stacks of eggs onto pallet.

4. Move palletized flats from the lift and replace pallets using a pallet jack.

The Packers are also responsible for cleaning and sanitizing their work area before the end of the day, which includes but is not limited to:

1. Cleaning and maintaining the packer floor area.

2. Cleaning and wiping down the machines and conveyors.

5. Empty shell collection trays

In the Packing department we work as a team, and we help each other out by cross training and the rotation of positions.

Qualifications:

~~~Applicants cannot own any birds, chickens, or pigs at their place of residence, nor receive transportation rides from anyone who works at any other bird farm~~~

EDUCATION: High school degree or GED preferred

EXPERIENCE: Warehouse/line work is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be in good physical condition to perform the job duties including: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. above your head. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to bend, lift and twist on different surfaces, including concrete. Need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
