Company Summary: Strategic College Consulting is the premier college consultation firm. Our focus is to help families navigate the often confusing, daunting, and competitive college planning and admissions process. We develop strategic college planning strategies at each stage of the college planning process.

Summary: The Education Consultant will provide industry-leading consultation to students and their families on the college planning and admission process. He/she will provide a game plan providing students with a framework to achieve their goals. The Education Consultant will be a friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable source for students and parents as they navigate the college planning and application process.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Game Plan

  • Highlight all the areas of the college planning and application process.
  • Provide a detailed and strategic plan for the student to follow for preparing, applying, and being accepted to colleges.
  • Develop a strategic plan for each year that students can follow to stay on track for a competitive college.

· Relationship building

  • Provide expert guidance, insight, and advice.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the students and families.
  • Provide unbiased feedback.

· Coach

  • Coach students and families through the competitive college planning and application process.
  • Provide resume and Interview techniques and scenarios so they ace admission interviews.
  • Administer psychological or academic assessments to design a coaching plan.

· Application Strategist

  • Help students strategically develop, market and present their applications to admission officers.
  • Write brainstorm, write and edit their essays from beginning to end.
  • Ensure students make an impression on their entire application strategy.
  • Proof-read and review application before submittal.

· Attend conferences on college planning and admissions.

· Other Duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

· Bachelor’s Degree from a top college.

· College admissions experience at a top college reviewing and making decisions on college applications.

· 2-3+ years of college counseling experience.

· Great customer service background.

· Personable with students and parents.

· Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.

· Excellent command of English language.

· A positive “Can Do” attitude.

· Coachable and willing to continue to learn and adapt as necessary.

· Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential situations with objectivity.

· Computer skills.

· Occasional travel to Irvine may be required.

Salary Range: $40-$60/hour, commensurate with experience

Part-Time (Minimum 5 hours per week with ability to turn into a full-time role)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week

Schedule:

  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

  • College Counseling or Admissions: 2 years (Required)
