The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE)- Teach and Leader Support and Development Division is recruiting for an experienced Educator Development Specialist. This position will be responsible for coordinating practices at the state and district level that promote the recruitment and retention of effective teachers by advancing strong instructional practices, competency-based learning, and performance tools that drive educator growth. The Educator Development Specialist will collaborate with district administrators, school leaders, and support staff to engage educators in an integrated system that provides pathways for professional development, and career advancement. ****This remote/telework position based out of Downtown Atlanta. Some statewide travel is required.

Description of Duties
- Implement systems in competency-based learning, integrated professional development, and career advancement for educators
- Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning that elevate effective teaching practices
- Analyze data using multiple measures to inform indicators of growth and development for students, teachers, and schools
- Use need assessments and appropriate adult learning practices to facilitate professional learning experiences with teachers and school leaders
- Collaborate with district/school staff to provide job-embedded supports for educators through observations, lesson studies and peer observation
- Provide individual and team consultation to adapt professional development so it meaningfully addresses educator learning needs
- Collect performance data through various means such as classroom observations, survey instruments, student assessments and other evidence of instructional effectiveness and responds to data requests to inform programming
- Evaluates program efficacy and utilizes pertinent data to propose local changes in methods and objectives
- Promote collegial culture by fostering an environment of service, trust and respect

- Master's degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university
- Possesses experience modeling effective teacher behavior to adult learners in a variety of instructional settings
- Expert knowledge of adult learning and change management processes
- Experience training and/or implementing state educator performance evaluation system
