In consultation with the eDiscovery Manager, the eDiscovery Attorney is responsible for handling most phases of the eDiscovery lifecycle for the matters assigned. This includes, but is not limited to the following duties:

  • Coordinate with case teams on document collection, processing, culling, review, and production.
  • Manage document reviews, privilege log creation, and quality control.
  • Supervise contract attorneys.
  • Prepare document production sets for releasing to opposing parties.
  • Assist with eDiscovery budgeting and vendor selection.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with eDiscovery vendors.
  • Act as a liaison between eDiscovery vendor and the Axinn case teams, and sometimes clients with regards to eDiscovery.
  • Assist with custodian interviews and custodian selection.
  • Assist with advocacy review, deposition preparation, and other document-related support for assigned cases as needed.
  • Edit and negotiate ESI protocols, protective orders, and other agreements.
  • Travel as necessary to meet case, client, and/or matter requirements.
  • Stay up to date on new trends and best practices in eDiscovery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • JD and at least 5 years of relevant eDiscovery experience with a proven track record in managing complex eDiscovery projects and document reviews.
  • Knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle from information governance to production.
  • Experience working closely with eDiscovery vendors.
  • Advanced skills in Relativity and/or other review platforms.
  • Strong legal analysis and project management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and handle competing demands and deadlines.
  • Ability to identify issues and collaborate to solve problems.
  • Analytical, technical, flexible, versatile, and self-motivated.
  • Experience with antitrust and intellectual property matters preferred.
  • Candidate must be barred in the state of their office or eligible to sit for the bar exam.

Position Details

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt level position. The finalist’s rate of pay will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $150,000-170,000 annually for highly-qualified candidates. This position is currently available in our New York, Washington D.C. and Hartford, CT offices.
