Job description – Edibles Specialist
Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting Management with product preparation, processing, clean-up, data entry, inventory management and equipment maintenance with respect to edible production.
Essential Functions:
- Preparing necessary tools and equipment for the infused products processes.
- Follow manufacturing processes to transition infused products batches into finished goods.
- Assist management in infused product scheduling plan.
- Assist Management in implementing new manufacturing processes.
- Perform the physical batching of cannabis extracts in addition to their data entry into the inventory management system.
- Accurately enter production data into METRC, the inventory management system, and other computerized databases.
- Clean and maintain laboratory.
- Maintain par levels of materials and equipment used in the production of infused products.
- Assist with any other lab duties as required by Management.
Edibles Focus:
· Knowledge of formulations and ability to develop new formulations for edible products. Including but not limited to:
o Drinks
o Chocolates
o Gummies
o And other products requiring water soluble cannabinoids.
· Knowledge of proper dosing and onset of each edible item.
· Upkeep of regulatory requirements including but not limited to OLCC and ODA Food Safety Division.
· Design and maintenance of necessary equipment and ingredients necessary for production.
· Knowledge of product storage guidelines including perishable products stored both in house and offsite for purposes of consumer safety and product replacement.
· Familiar with food product recall protocols and requirements.
· Ability to assist management in packaging needs and design.

- Knowledge and ability to use standard lab equipment; filling equipment, vacuum ovens, hot plates, extraction equipment, etc.
- Ability to work effectively with employees, management, customers, governmental agencies, community members and the general public.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.
- Must understand and comply with laboratory standards
- Must be familiar with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
- Skilled in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of company philosophies and goals.
- Ability to research, evaluate and adapt to new methods, compliance updates and techniques for operational improvement.
- Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, METRC, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
Additional Requirements:
- Oregon driver’s license or State ID card
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must be approved by the Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission to receive a Marijuana Worker Permit
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some College, preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in a cannabis processor setting, preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage projects and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- The work for this position is performed in a laboratory setting.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance), may include sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
