We are looking for an ambitious Infused Edible Specialist/Cook to work in the preparation of unique cannabis infused confections in our kitchen. You are responsible for the daily preparation and production of a variety of cannabis products. They weigh, mix, and combine ingredients based on set recipes and SOP’s, and then cook the ingredients in Kettles, Vats, or ovens. These cooked ingredients are then cut, rolled, or deposited into molds and finished as necessary. The finished product is then packaged and labeled to complete the production. Candy makers execute action plans that meet operational and organization objectives in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, cutting, and peeling ingredients
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients
- Help with menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Assist in setting up and breaking down food stations for events or special occasions

Process/Technology

  • Confirms accurate counts, quality, and quantities of raw materials upon receiving them from a vendor.
  • Confirms accurate counts, quality, and quantities of finished goods prior to packaging.
  • Completes weekly inventory audits, immediately communicating and adjusting discrepancies.
  • Maintains an operational production floor during scheduled operating hours, at all times.
  • Maintains a valid state MT Cannabis Worker Permit as well as issued food handler’s card.
  • Efficiently creates daily production plans with an optimal labor mindset that meets the company’s production needs.
  • Communicates timecard changes and Personal Time Off/Sick requests in a timely manner
  • Reports all injuries and property damage, using the appropriate forms, within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Ensures compliance with security, inventory, and regulatory protocols unique to the cannabis industry.
  • Implements company programs to execute action plans that meet operational and organization objectives.
  • Always keeps facility clean and organized.
  • Communicates the need for repairs, facility improvements, and maintenance with management team
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the company.

Required Qualifications

  • Chef Experience, Bakery experience preferred
  • High School Graduate, equivalent, or commensurate experience
  • Experience in Production, food service.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Solid and efficient problem-solving skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback in an efficient, meaningful, and timely manner
  • Ability to teach others processes and ensure team members understand implications of decisions
  • Ability to remain positive even when faced with tough situations
  • Familiarity with MT Cannabis Manufacturing rules and guidelines as well as METRC
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to come to work.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations required for working in the cannabis space, including valid MT Cannabis Worker Permit, renewed annually.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Have interest in the cannabis industry and be culturally aligned with company mission

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit and kneel daily in production environments that include concrete or other hard-surface floors and, in some instances, staircases
  • Ability to push, pull and carry up to 40 pounds multiple times daily
  • Ability to maintain focus and memory in environments with distractions such as heavy foot traffic, background noise due to public conversations and the gathering of people, etc.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
