What You’ll Do:
The role is responsible for building the tools that power our freight platform. You should have a passion for tackling hard problems. A veteran who knows how to get things done, and how-to future-proof our architecture and implementations to scale for years to come. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap and development of all of the systems here at U.S. Xpress.
- Develop and maintain EDI maps, including translation rules and processes, to facilitate the exchange of electronic data between our company and external trading partners.
- Collaborate with various internal teams and external partners to gather and analyze business requirements, ensuring compliance with EDI protocols and standards.
- Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transactions, identifying and resolving any errors or discrepancies in a timely manner to ensure a smooth flow of information.
- Create and maintain documentation related to EDI processes and procedures, including mapping specifications, data interchange agreements, and trading partner profiles.
- Coordinate with external trading partners to onboard new partners, manage EDI testing, and resolve any issues related to data exchange.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in EDI protocols and standards, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate EDI systems and processes with internal systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency.
- Provide training and support to internal users on EDI processes, tools, and best practices.
- Assist in managing EDI projects, including system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements, ensuring successful completion within agreed timelines and budgets.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience preferred. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
Experience and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of EDI protocols and standards as related to ANSI X12. Prefer experience with 204, 210, 214, and 990 documents.
- Expert in EDI mapping and translation tools, such as Gentran, GIS, or Sterling Integrator.
- Experience with RPGLE.
- Knowledge of .NET and SQL a plus.
- 10+ years of relevant job experience.
- Solid understanding of business processes and workflows, particularly in transportation domain.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle large volumes of data and ensure data integrity.
- Excellence in communicating with users, team members, and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting tight deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $89,300.00 - $148,700.00 per year
