Job Summary:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Business Development, the Emergency Consultation Services (ECS) Representative handles inquiries from prospective clients and area hospitals. This will entail appropriately documenting on inquiry and facilitating admissions with the Centralized Admission Team.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • N/A

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present informational seminars on Bradford Health Services (BHS) services
  • Possess a working knowledge of chemical dependency signs and symptoms in adults and Adolescents
  • Must be able to develop and maintain accounts and relationship with the referral community
  • Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective clients
  • Demonstrate the ability to collect screening information for a potential patient
  • Posses a working knowledge of appropriate emergency, indigent and/or self-help referral information
  • Consultant shall possess a complete and working knowledge of the crisis response role
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner
  • Respond in person within 30 minutes or drive time of the initial request for an onsite consultation
  • Coordinate screening and/or referrals with the Centralized Admissions Team
  • Regular attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have 2 years of experience in business development or account management desired
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency desired
  • Working knowledge of insurance and third-party payers
  • Computer data entry skills required
  • Must be able to interact with the professional community
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be available for an on call schedule that may include a period of waiting to be engaged between 7am to 7pm
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Attention to detail

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Some college preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear clearly (hearing assist devices accepted)
  • Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations
  • Valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
  • If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence
