The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Revenue Maximization Unit (Rev Max), is seeking candidates for the position of Economic Support Consultant 2 (Rev Max Specialist). This position reports to the unit supervisor and will be located in Lowndes County.
Note: Rev Max staff are teleworking 4 days per week and working on location one day per week to prepare for state and federal IV-E audits.

Job Description
Pay Grade: H
Completes funding determinations for all children in the care, custody, and oversight of DFCS. Reviews and analyzes all eligibility forms, applications, documents, database documentation or other information to ensure accurate information is being received and/or given to make funding determinations. Completes timely and accurate data entry into SHINES & Gateway database systems. Works in accordance with all established Rev Max policy and protocols, Federal laws, and Code of Federal Regulations. Maintains Foster Care and Adoption Assistance Case Records in accordance with Rev Max Record Management protocols/procedures. Completes and submits all required work productivity tracking forms/reports in accordance to and within established Rev Max protocols/procedures. Participates within a regional Rev Max team; collaborates and provides technical assistance to social services staff and county OFI staff as requested or needed to ensure accuracy and timeliness of Title IV-E funding determinations/re-determinations. Participates in all meetings, trainings and/or work groups as requested by your supervisor and makes recommendations for unit/program improvements and or problem resolutions. Acquires and maintains a working knowledge of all Title IV-E and Medicaid Federal and State laws, policies, standards, procedures, protocols. Provide training for internal and external partners on Title IV-E eligibility upon request and approval by the supervisor. Maintains close and routine interactions with various agency and/or community partners; as such, excellent communication skills (demeanor, verbal, written) and a professional image are requisites.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Determines Title IV-E funding eligibility for foster care and adoption assistance children.
  • Determines Medicaid eligibility for foster care and adoption assistance children.
  • Maintains ongoing case records.
  • Maintains Gateway and SHINES data systems with current data.
  • Request, collect and track required documentation for program eligibility from various sources.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.

OR
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience.

OR
  • High school diploma or GED AND Three years of related experience.

OR
  • Two years of experience at the lower level Economic Support Cons 1 (SSP050) or position equivalent.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND 12 months experience providing eligibility determinations for a government or a human/social services program.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND 12 months case management experience in Child Welfare, Foster Care, adoptions or other social service programs.
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND twenty-four (24) months as an Economic Support Specialist (FICM 1) or Medicaid Eligibility Specialist.
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university AND twenty-four (24) months of experience at the lower Economic Support Consultant 1 position or equivalent.
