UPMC Wellsboro is seeking a limited part-time Echo Technologist! This role will work 16 hours per week, 8a to 4:30 p.m. No weekends or holidays are required.
Perform a variety of Ultrasonic (Echocardiographic) evaluations of the heart for diagnostic purposes. These tests include Complete Echocardiographic studies, Enhancement (Definity) Studies, Bubble Echo Studies, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo studies
Responsibilities:
- Prepare testing procedures for interpretation, within the established time frame by pulling previous reports, documenting measurements and findings on the technician worksheet, presenting OP written orders, documenting appropriate information in the log books
- Accurately enter patient demographics and information, utilizing the modality work list on the Echo machines and/or manually entering data in the Syngo and MUSE systems.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning and stocking machines daily and alerting appropriate personnel of needed repairs and supplies.
- Perform Cardiac Ultrasound procedures according to guidelines established by the Medical Director. These procedures must be performed in the established time frame and according to established protocol. These procedures include M-Mode, 2D, Doppler, Color flow Doppler, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Echo Enhancement, Bubble studies, and Stress Echocardiography.
- Complete the billing for ALL Echo procedures performed by utilizing the Hospital’s eRecord system and hospital computers by the end of one’s shift.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited sonographer program with registration or registration eligibility.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
A registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
