Located minutes from Lanikai Beach in Windward Oahu, Adventist Health Castle is nestled at the base of the beautiful Ko'olau mountain range. More than just a beautiful campus, AHCS also one of five organizations nationwide to receive the 2017 Baldrige National Quality Award.
Featuring a full-service medical center, Castle offers a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and home-based services, with over 1,000 employees and staffed by more than 300 physicians. Located just outside of Kailua, AHCS serves all of O'ahu and is the primary health care facility for the Windward side of the island.
We're looking for someone to join our team as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer who:
Uses non-invasive ultrasound and cardiovascular technology equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions. Schedules appointments, explains procedures to patients and maintains ultrasound equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients, explains procedures and ensures patient cooperation during examinations. Perform echocardiograms to evaluate different aspects of the heart, such as chamber size, valve function and blood flow. Reviews patient files for basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities.
- Monitors vital signs, evaluates general patient condition for signs of impending complications and reports unusual, possibly harmful or dangerous observations to physicians and department managers, as appropriate.
- Informs patients and family members about the nature of examinations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
Work Experience:
- Cardiac/vascular ultrasound experience: Preferred
- Echo and vascular experience: Required
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification: Required
- ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography: Required
- Registered Sonographer (RCS) Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS): Required
