ABOUT NORTHWEST PHYSICIANS GROUP
Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty, and urgent care locations in and around Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. POSITION SUMMARY: Tech-Echo Sonographer (FT Days)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Echo Sonographer is responsible for the day-to-day operations (patient flow) and efficiency of the Echo department. The technologist must have knowledge of all areas within the Echo Department and must utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. The Echo Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations according to the currently accepted practices of the ARDMS and Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The technologist will prepare technical reports, exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. - Assists the Cardiologist and Staff Physicians with tests
- Demonstrates Echo Sonography skills needed for all positions
- Demonstrates good patient care
- Utilizes the appropriate leadership skill in supervising students and providing feedback concerning student performance
- Demonstrates good communication and problem-solving skills
- Is a professional role model for personnel
- Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and employees
- Assess risks to patient safety and implements the appropriate precaution
- Complies with appropriate and approved standards relating to patients, infection control, and environmental issues

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable):
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or Cardiology Credentialing International (CCI) attempted with 18-24 months of hire date
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care
