We invite highly skilled, dedicated professionals to join our team of therapists, educators, nurses, counselors and administrative support.  We have a current opportunity for a Family Support Specialistin our Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
 
This is a year-round (12 months per year) role. 
 
POSITION SUMMARY  
Family Support Specialist
Program: ECEAP                    Location:  Everett                                  Schedule:  1.0 FTE                  Salary Range: $24.00 -25.48/hr

The ECEAP Family Support Specialist is an integral part of delivering high quality preschool programming to children whose families are potentially involved in multiple social service systems. The Family Support Specialist quickly establishes working relationships with prospective families, walks them through the application process, enters confidential data into the computer system, and manages enrollment. The FSS also meets quarterly with families to identify goals and encourage them and invites them to be actively involved in academic life of their children, or parent groups. The ideal candidate is familiar with ECEAP, home visiting, and community resources within Snohomish County. 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Has an Associate or higher degree, with the equivalent of 30 college quarter credits of adult education, human development, human services, Family Support, social work, early childhood education (Pre-K- Grade 3), child development, psychology, or another field directly related to this job. -OR
  • Has a DCYF- approved credential from a comprehensive and competency-based Family/Social Service training program that increases knowledge and skills in providing direct services to families. -OR-
  • Has a Home Visitor Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential from the Council of Professional Recognition.
  • Must be skilled in communicating in spoken and written English, with the ability to read and process online data in English.  
  • Maintains a collegial, collaborative, professional, and tactful manner.  
  • Maintains family privacy, and confidentiality of sensitive information with integrity. 
  • Has self-reflective ability, awareness of a parallel process, and is able to utilize reflective supervision to challenge one’s own habits and beliefs to develop as a practitioner.   
  • Must possess a valid WA state driver’s license, have state required minimum automobile insurance, and be able to use own vehicle on the job.
  • Must be able to pass a State background check, and be approved to work around children.

Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers serves families with children birth to three years of age who have a developmental delay or identified disability;

Parents as Teachersserves families who are pregnant or have a young child who are living with trauma or chronic hardships, including housing instability or poverty.
Community Outreach serves families who are vulnerable due to homelessness, substance abuse, and isolation.  The Outreach program partners with the Tulalip Tribes, Homeward House, recovery centers, and local shelters to provide counseling and early childhood consultation.
ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program) is a high quality preschool and family development program for underserved families in partnership with Snohomish County and the State of Washington.
