Eatonville - Substitute Lifeguard 2023-24

Purpose Statement: 

The job of "Substitute Lifeguard" is done for the purpose of ensuring safe use of our aquatic facility. To provide lessons for students, to provide excellent customer service for the public, and to provide a safe recreational activity for patrons of the swimming pool.

Essential Functions: 

• Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress in the swimming program.

• Assesses students' physical and perceptual motor needs for the purpose of developing baseline information for placement and providing information necessary for program development.

• Assesses students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and the Pool Manager regarding students' progress, expectations, goals, etc.

• Collects fees for pool use and completes appropriate reports as needed.

• Ensures all safety rules are followed, patrons are well monitored and supervised.

• Instructs students, student assistants, parents and other staff for the purpose of assisting students to maximize their swimming and water safety performance and providing knowledge to maintain targeted functional level.

Other Functions: 

• Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. 
• Provides minor cleaning work in pool area between scheduled swim activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
