SUMMARY
Assist in plastics area by grading, bundling and properly stacking profiles coming off extrusion lines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Responsible for a minimum of 7 extrusion lines.
  • Visually inspect and gauge moulding for any defect.
  • Bundle material coming off extrusion line.
  • Maintain reject log sheet to keep records of reject material.
  • Properly stack material on U-rack or pallet.
  • Grade returns, log and keep record.
  • Close and band carton and crates using staple gun, nail gun and bander. Re-crate as required.
  • Cut off crating material with skill saw.
  • Place proper labels on cartons.
  • Take carton to proper location.
  • Drive tow motor to place cartons on buggy for banding and to move other materials.
  • Maintain equipment, hoses, etc.
  • Daily check with supervisor for instructions.
  • High degree of fork truck usage, banding, packaging, material movement, raw material movement in addition to the handling and inspection of the product.
  • Work with minimum supervision and complete job as assigned.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, lead and supervisors/managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead

  • Education/Knowledge

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience

Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Communication

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
