Role Objective

American Express is the top tier payment card issuer for small businesses in the United States and supports business owners with products and services to help them run and grow their businesses. Global Commercial Services (GCS) is committed to service and innovation and offers our Commercial Card Members a wide range of differentiated solutions.

As the global leader in the corporate payments’ solutions space, we continue to be an exciting and fast-growing business. GCS is a core operating group of American Express and has delivered increased growth over the past decade. GCS partners with small businesses and corporate clients to support them as they manage business expenses and make large purchases through proprietary payment solutions and expense management tools.

The Early Tenure Manageris responsible for managing a team of up to eight Early Tenure Consultants as they on-board and provide Early Tenure treatment of our newly acquired Business and Corporate clients. The Early Tenure team leverages their expertise to understand the client need, educate, and provide solutions, driving incremental charge volume the right way while maintaining loyal customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop a group of individual contributors to drive growth and hit scorecard targets
  • Provide individualized skills-improvement assistance, aiding in self-discovery and encouraging self-generated solutions
  • Exhibit consistent track record of managing performance, coaching, and motivating for success and can identify and leverage strengths and opportunities to drive results
  • Hire and on-board new Early Tenure Consultants to build a strong team and support team development
  • Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions and weekly team huddles to drive portfolio growth
  • Work closely with internal partners to develop cross-sell opportunities
  • Collaborative with key stakeholders across risk, pricing, marketing, client management, merchant, AP Automation, and/or sales & acquisition to drive retention and growth
  • Understand market level / industry information to share insights on key competitors, challenges, technology, trends, and regulations
  • Ensure all aspects of the American Express Code of Conduct, and our Sales Practices policies, standard, and procedures, are adhered to so that we uphold the highest standards in our interactions with our customers and compliantly meet all regulatory requirements
  • Support Operational Excellence team in call monitoring processes to ensure high quality and compliant customer interaction

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience leading sales teams, 3 – 5 years minimum
  • Experience partnering with clients across various markets / industries
  • Experience in a highly-regulated industry

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
