JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Family Trainer-Early Interventionist
Reports To: Early Interventionist Supervisor
- Provide Family Training with a variety of caregivers to develop strategies and activities to enhance a child’s developmental growth and recreational development.
- Encourage overall positive parent-child interaction.
- Utilize Routines-Based Early Intervention Model and Coaching Strategies with in Family Training sessions.
- Design learning environments and activities that promote the infant's or toddler's acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas, including cognitive processes and social interactions.
- Assist the family in maximizing the resources outlined in the Individual Family Support
Plan/Family Support Plan (IFSP/FSP) including assistive technology devices, nutritional services, and therapies directly related to the developmental needs of the child, when necessary.
- Complete clinical documentation within established time frames.
- Adhere to guidelines set forth by BabyNet and the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals.
- Must be able to chart appropriately and timely.
- Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
- Must be able to assist in the evaluation of children and families.
- Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Education, Psychology, or a related field and have at least one year experience working with children from birth to three years of age or children ages birth to 5 years with disabilities
OR
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in ANY field and have five years of documented experience with infants and toddlers or children age birth to 5 years with disabilities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,000.00 per year
