Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Intervention Evaluator to serve County Boards of Development Disability's Early Intervention teams in and surrounding Central Ohio. As an Early Intervention Evaluator, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to children and their families. This position requires an in-depth understanding of child development, ages birth - 3 yrs old.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess children in all five developmental domains as directed and/or required using approved evaluation tools; document results using prescribed format.
- Work in collaboration with the child’s service coordinator to refer child/family for appropriate community services and/or programs as needed.
- Collaborate with Early Intervention team members to support development of Individualized Family Services Plans (IFSPs) with families.
Qualifications
- Must possess and demonstrate knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Must be certified/licensed in two or more of the following disciplines, as contemplated by Ohio Administrative CODE (OAC) Appendix B of Rule 5123-10-2: counselors; developmental specialists, as certified by the department, family therapists, hearing impairment interventionists including audiologist and teachers of the deaf; marriage and family therapists; nurses; occupational therapists; pediatricians, psychiatrists, and other physician for diagnostic and evaluation purposes; physical therapists; psychologists; registered dieticians; social workers; special educators including early childhood educators when licensed for ages three through eight, grades kindergarten through third or special education; speech and language pathologist; and vision specialists including ophthalmologists, optometrists, teachers of the visually impaired, and orientation and mobility specialists.
Physical Requirements
- Standing or sitting for periods which may exceed one hour.
- Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Simple grasping, light pushing/pulling and/or fine manipulation of left and right hands.
- Reach above shoulders, frequently, both sides.
Other Requirements
- Operate job-related equipment including the use of basic computer programs and systems.
- Read, understand, and communicate information and ideas presented in writing.
- Use mathematics to solve problems.
- Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and maintain a status of insurability for motor vehicle insurance. Reliable transportation is required.
- Required medical examination upon offer of employment which requires freedom from substance abuse.
- Required Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check upon offer of employment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary will be commensurate with experience. This position falls into Class V of the WestCON compensation schedule and has a salary range of $48,880-$73,320 annually.
