Early Head Start Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Early Head Start teacher to join our team. The Early Head Start Teacher will help children develop a positive self-image, sense of independence and self-discipline through developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum.

Main Responsibilities

• Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
• Ability to develop individual goals for children, provide on-going assessment on progress and facilitate transition into kindergarten.
• Will promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children.
• Teachers will maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
• Complete and submit required forms and records in a timely and accurate fashion, e.g., lesson plans, time sheets, meal reports etc.
• Perform other duties, as may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged students in a Head Start program preferred.
• Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and/or agency policies and procedures.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
• Proof of a physical examination within the last six months, which includes a tuberculosis test and MMR vaccines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
