Early Childhood Education Teacher

BASE WAGE $15.31-$21.38 per hour based on education level.
JOB TYPE Full-Time

DESCRIPTION
Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities area’s leading provider of Early Childhood care and education. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for.

As an Early Childhood Teacher on our team, you will create a quality learning environment that actively engages children to both learn and play. You will play a role in enhancing the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth of children. This means you’ll do things like:
  • Create and follow lesson plans;
  • Assess the developmental needs of children to build their knowledge and skills;
  • Develop positive working relationships with families; and,
  • Participate in personal development to grow your own knowledge, skills and abilities as an Early Childhood educator.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A full list of job responsibilities will be provided prior to an interview. Education and Experience
Required: Minimum of sixty semester hours(or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university with a minimum of six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or development, from birth to age six; or one year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed early care and education center and 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to six; or completion of credentialing programs approved by the Department.
