This Opportunity
WSP is currently recruiting a full-time staff member for our Government Relations and strategic projects team in Seattle, Washington . The position is specifically designed to be appropriate for those early in their careers and will offer opportunities to work on some of the most complex and meaningful projects in our region.
In this role, you will support more senior Government Relations and strategic projects team members on multiple transportation and other infrastructure programs. Your work will allow you to be in the room as government and stakeholder relations strategies are developed and executed and will offer exposure to multiple federal, state and local policymaking processes.
Your Impact
- Support multiple critical initiatives integral to complex public projects.
- Assist in developing and implementing work- and communication plans to support ongoing work.
- Draft deliverable documents and assist with note-taking, scheduling, meeting planning, and tracking client needs.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, planning, political science, or closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with all commonly used Microsoft Office and similar software programs.
- Demonstrated writing and organizational skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- The ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Flexibility to work and travel outside normal business hours as required.
