Fuji Vegetable Oil, Inc. is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic team player to join our Maintenance Team as an E&I Technician in our Savannah, GA Plant. Our pay range for E&I Tech is $30.62/hr. - $39.05/hr. based on experience.

SUMMARY

Install and repairs electrical systems, instrumentation, programmable controllers, distributed control systems, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. This position provides the needed support to ensure production reliability and quality in a safe work environment. Follows all safety policies and procedures to ensure safety to self and others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical control systems.

Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining PLC/DCS systems.

Responsible for the calibration and repair of plant instrumentation.

Responsible for completing work orders and other assignments as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or plant Engineer.

Performs routine diagnoses, repairs, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance to ensure that all electrical, electronic, mechanical, plant circuitry, hydraulic, pneumatic, heating and cooling systems, and chillers are in proper working condition.

Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunctions with other maintenance workers and production workers to diagnosis malfunctions.

Works on 480 volt power panels in accordance with safety policies and procedures to ensure safety to self and others.

As required, estimates and requisitions parts, electrical components, wires, and materials.

Suggests plans to achieve work goals, increase efficiencies, and improve use of equipment for better quality product.

Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on variable frequency drives, 480 volt motor starters and switches.

Responsible for identification and tagging of equipment.

Responsible for remaining on plant premises when known problem exist without assuring correction action is in place.

Wears and uses safety equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must have training/experience with PLC’s and instrumentation troubleshooting. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); must have completed four years of electrical apprenticeship or have five years experience in the industrial electrical field. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, PLC/DCS equipment, and calibrate a variety of typical plant instrumentation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID’s, technical manuals, and governmental regulations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform advanced math functions in order to understand written and oral communications.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be capable of recognizing and analyzing problems and providing quick, appropriate responses. The troubleshooting aspect of this job requires considerable judgment and decision making. Touch, feel, smell, and hearing, coupled with logical deduction are all important. Must be able to enlist cooperation from work with other production and maintenance department employees. Must be alert and maintain high level of awareness and self-initiate

corrective action where required. Must be able to determine safe and effective solutions to problems after thorough information gathering and analysis. Employees safety must be primary consideration throughout the decision making process on each assignment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to move about in elevated and confined workplaces making equipment repairs and adjustments and installing equipment. Must be able to move and position relatively heavy equipment or parts- 50 to 60 lbs. - or assist others in moving, shifting, or positioning heavier objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position is currently day shift but future shift work is possible.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is frequently exposed to dust, dirt, noise, vibration, temperature variations, and fumes and other environmental conditions to varying degrees, depending on assignments. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and fire hazards may be present.
