Job description

The E-commerce Manager is responsible for executing Idahoan’s E-commerce vision, strategy, and most importantly, business performance. They will manage the online sales and marketing activities of the E-commerce business as well as assuring that we are winning on the digital shelf to increase market share and outpace national e-commerce growth in CPG food. This includes supporting best-in-class content, copy, images, and digital assets across E-commerce channels. The E-commerce Manager will also develop and implement strategies to increase online sales and optimize the user experience of our direct-to-consumer website and be responsible for our e-retail marketing, product assortment, and the management and identification of new and existing E-commerce platforms and technologies.

Reporting to the Director of E-commerce, this position does not have any direct reports but will work closely with agency partners and the broader Retail Marketing team and will collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance. Success will require an ability to think strategically and act tactically, a competitive mindset, overt sense of urgency, and a deep understanding and appreciation of the data that will drive every decision. This role will require project management experience, priority setting, reporting and analytics, attention to detail, ability to work well with and influence others, strong communication skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Managing and executing promotional campaigns
  • Manage, strategize with, and guide e-commerce agencies, developers, and business to support our strategic goals
  • Manage online activity in relation to traffic acquisition, sales, conversion, A/B testing, and reporting
  • Develop and implement E-commerce strategy and build / maintain related digital ecosystems & platforms to deliver against brand objectives, consumer needs and commercial goals efficiently and effectively
  • Monitoring, managing, and updating website content for our own and strategic retail websites
  • Providing insights on customer shopping trends to support assortment selection and identify assortment gaps
  • Embrace ownership of all websites traffic drivers & sales conversion metrics
  • Use data visualization tools to help improve reporting using Power BI/Tableau
  • Research market to discover new trends and technologies to improve performance
  • Analyze various data sets to develop strategies to deliver top performance and achieve KPIs
  • Oversee or directly manage digital marketing channels across PPC, SEM, SEO, Display, affiliates, email marketing, and social media
  • Develop content calendar and oversee website uploads and landing pages development
  • Report on performance and be responsible for the day-to-day measurement and metrics for the business, staying on top of trends coming from the analytics platforms and making sure we are achieving qualitative & quantitative targets
  • Embrace and deploy a ‘test & learn’ mentality and a philosophy of continuous improvement to ensure experience is kept fresh and optimal
  • Monitor the ROI and KPI’s of digital marketing efforts, promotions, and participation in events to ensure a positive and measurable impact on sale and benchmark these results against the broader E-commerce landscape

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required; Advanced Degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience managing marketing and/or agency teams
  • Experience developing and overseeing digital marketing strategies
  • Excellent understanding of web design and web analysis
  • Strong marketing and tech background
  • Understanding and experience with web analytics, Google analytics, web platforms (Shopify), and web syndication platforms (Salsify, Syndigo)
  • Knowledge of digital marketing KPIs and channels such as PPC, SEO, Social Media, Display, and influencer marketing
  • Knowledge of attribution modeling, website speed optimization, A/B testing, conversion management, sales journey optimization, traffic analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Experience with Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Vendor Central, and retailer marketplaces
  • Experience in CPG E-commerce and retail environments
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and in budget through organization, planning, attention to detail, accountability, and communication tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, business process, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to multi-task, manage workload, work well with others in stressful situations, and meet deadlines as necessary
  • Ability to effectively work with, communicate with, and present to all levels of the organization and product development teams
  • Ability to manage and mitigate project risks; problem solve, pivot, and quickly provide strategic solutions
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
• Approximately 90% of work is performed in an office environment
