The base hourly rate for this position is $25.53
Working with plant management team at all levels within the organization to support the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection. The essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide maintenance support to Production on rotating shift.
  • Troubleshoot power distribution systems, digital and analog signal processing, robots, burner management systems, variable frequency drives, motor starters, disconnects, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and PLCs.
  • Install/Configure/Commission signal and power cable runs, conduit runs, cable tray, disconnects, cabinets, motor starters, VFDs, instrumentation, motors, cameras and lighting.
  • Calibrate instrumentation, such as pressure, temperature, flow and level.
  • Read and edit basic wiring and Interlock diagrams.
  • Interact with HMIs
  • Program variable frequency drives, PLCs and robots.
  • The E&I Tech plays a critical role in supporting the plant's overall safety objectives. They must demonstrate a safety-first value, leading by example, not just abiding by all current safety rules, but supporting an environment of continuous improvement.

Skills:
  • Experienced with multimeter, megger, field communicator, laptop.
  • Familiar with programming Variable Frequency Drives
  • Familiar with PLC troubleshooting
  • Experienced with Electrical and Instrumentation drawings
  • Capable of running conduit and cable tray.
  • Familiar with 480 volt power distribution.
  • Familiar with robot systems.
  • Familiar with DC Motors.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Two years of formal technical training in electrical and Instrumentation crafts
  • One to Five years of Industrial Electrician/E&I experience
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in elevated work platforms.
  • Work requires good hearing, vision, speaking, color vision, and finger dexterity skills as well as the ability to perform close work. Computer skills and the ability to analyze blueprints, charts, and diagrams are essential.
  • Electricians must supply basic hand tools including acceptable electrical meters.
  • Must be willing to work any shift

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and use the stairs. The employee will frequently engage in repetitive motions. The employee must frequently lift, push or pull 25 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to work around and with machinery including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This job is in an industrial, manufacturing environment. The job requires working frequently around and with heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. The environment is not climate controlled and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season. Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven. Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes. Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes. The manufacturing process involves toxic or caustic chemicals. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes steel toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection, gloves and head protection.
