Gulfstream Loads & Dynamics is looking for a mid-career individual to join our Dynamic Loads and Flutter team. The right person for this position is self-motivated and team-oriented, willing to work independently while also guiding tasks and supporting junior and senior members of the team. You will gain experience across all aspects of the Dynamic Loads and Flutter discipline while operating at the leading edge of the aviation industry. In addition to analysis, you'll be able to get hand-on experience with ground vibration and flight testing as we work through our certification programs. You'll also have opportunities to develop and demonstrate your technical leadership as we progress towards certification and continue to push the boundaries of business aviation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Perform aircraft flutter analysis for nominal, parametric, failure and repair scenarios.
Assess aircraft repairs and modifications for flutter impacts.
Generate and analyze aircraft structural dynamic responses and corresponding load distributions for tuned and continuous gust conditions.
Document completed analysis and findings in engineering reports for aircraft certification.
Support relevant customer interfaces including Flight Dynamics, Structures, Mass Properties, Flight Control Systems, Flight Test & Certification groups.
Collaborate with internal & external customers on technical matters
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM
General knowledge of aircraft aeroelasticity principles and concepts
General knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 requirements and certification
Experience in aircraft structural dynamics modeling and analysis
Prior experience with MSC Nastran and Patran
Knowledge and experience with Matlab and/or Python for analytical and post test data processing
Knowledge and experience with Linux
Strong verbal and written communication skills
NICE TO HAVE:
Advanced degree in Aerospace or related Engineering
Knowledge and experience with engine fan blade out and windmilling dynamic analysis
Experience with aeroservoelasticity
Knowledge and experience with commercial or NASA CFD analysis toolsets
Experience with software development and version control software
Experience with fly-by-wire aircraft
Experience with preparation for and execution of aircraft-level certification ground and flight tests
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Guides successful completion of major engineering programs, or conceives research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services

Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .

Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:

Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.

The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
