Job Description
Objective
The Dump Truck Driver's responsibilities include using the cranks and levers inside the truck to unload materials, supervising the loading of materials onto the truck, and inspecting the truck for any mechanical issues before and each trip. The Dump Truck Driver should perform all duties in accordance with the company safety policy and Department of Transportation (DOT) road safety regulations.
Essential Functions
- Operates truck in a safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area, and various job sites to deliver materials, obeying applicable laws and following dispatch instructions
- Collects, transports, and unloads materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or waste at specified locations.
- Ensures that the materials are loaded correctly onto the Dump Truck.
- Prepares and regularly inspects the vehicle prior to operation. Checking air pressure, lights, fluid levels, and hydraulic condition.
- Keeps truck clean and in orderly condition.
- Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon delivery of goods.
- Complies with all DOT, EPA and company regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Requires Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must maintain current driver's license that meets state and federal requirements.
- Valid Medical Examiners Certificate
- Clean Driving Record
- Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
- Requires 3-5 years of related experience.
- Outstanding communication skills

- Sits: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
- Stands: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
- Walks: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
- Drive: Continuously 5.5 - 8 hours daily
- Lift/Carry 0-10 lbs.: Continuously 5.5 - 8 hours daily
- Lift/Carry 10-50 lbs.: Occasionally .25 - 2.5 hours daily
- Reach Above: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
- Bend/Stoop: Frequently 2.5 - 5.5 hours daily
- Use Hands for Manipulations: Continuously 5.5 - 8 hours daily
- Vision Abilities: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
