Duties:
- Prepare drywall surfaces for finishing by filling cracks and holes, and smoothing out rough areas
- Apply joint compound to seams and corners to create a smooth, seamless finish
- Sand and buff drywall surfaces to achieve a polished, professional appearance
- Repair damaged drywall by replacing sections or patching holes
- Install corner beads and tape joints to reinforce and strengthen the drywall
- Ensure all work is completed according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the drywall finishing process
Skills:
- Proficient in construction painting techniques to achieve desired finishes
- Knowledge of frame carpentry for proper installation of drywall panels
- Experience in flooring installation to ensure proper alignment with finished floors
- Familiarity with construction estimating to accurately assess materials and labor needed for projects
- Skill in fixture installation for proper placement of electrical outlets, switches, and other fixtures on finished walls
- Understanding of masonry techniques for repairing or reinforcing damaged areas of drywall
- Proficiency in reading blueprints to ensure accurate placement and finishing of drywall surfaces
- Knowledge of trim carpentry for precise installation of baseboards, crown molding, and other decorative elements
- Experience in plastering techniques for creating smooth, textured finishes on drywall surfaces
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
