Job Description:
The purpose of the DOT Shuttle Driver is to performpickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and return emptytrailers for reloading back to the warehouse.

•Perform as a safe and courteous driver anddemonstrate BEK principles during interactions with the public.
•Maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers usedduring the shift to ensure the upkeep and overall condition of equipment.
•Adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations todemonstrate compliance at all times.
•Ensure trailers and tractors are adequatelyfueled and fuel levels are consistently maintained on equipment used at the WHSor shuttle site.
•Ensure tractors and trailers are brought in forservice when needed.

Perform as a safe and courteous driver and demonstrateBEK principles during interactions with the public.
•Utilize extreme care and safety during theoperation of vehicles and maintain awareness of the traffic, and other driversat all times.
•Always adhere to the traffic laws.
•Attend required training and follow the SmithSystem driving techniques
•Avoid excessive traffic incidents and/oraccidents
•Follow all proper lifting procedures and reportany issues that might prevent the driver from adhering to these procedures.
•Maintain caution and awareness when performingduties around awnings or car ports to prevent accident occurrence.
Maintain cleanliness of tractors/trailers used duringthe shift to ensure the upkeep and overall condition of equipment.
•During return of empty trailers to the WHS, thedriver must unload all returns and put them in the designated area, as well asclean up any debris or sweep the trailer as needed.
•Report any repeated issues with trailer cleanlinessto the supervisor to be appropriately addressed.
•Responsible for reporting any damage to any unitused to pick up or drop off during the driver's shift.
Adhere to all FMCSA laws and regulations todemonstrate compliance at all times.
•Drivers must study the FMCSA handbook and adhereto any relevant rules or regulations.
•Maintain scheduled hours and do not exceedavailable hours of service.
•Report extra hours of service to the GM or theDOT Compliance Manager.
•Report any requests that put the driver inviolation with a FMCSA rule or regulation to the supervisor for clarificationprior to performing the duty.
•Perform and document inspections.
•Contact the DOT Compliance Manager to resolveoutstanding issues.
Ensure trailers and tractors are adequately fueled andfuel levels are consistently maintained on equipment used at the WHS or shuttlesite.
•Completely fill any trailers that need fuelbefore they are loaded at the WHS or before they are delivered to the domicilesite.
•Report any instances of low or no fuel at thebeginning of the shift to the supervisor.
•Track fuel receipts and report amounts to thedesignated person after each fuel occurrence.
Ensure tractors and trailers are brought in forservice:
•Perform and document inspections as required byFMCSA and Ben E. Keith.
•Notify Truck Shop of defects found to allowadequate time to route in for service
Knowledge and Experience - The following are educationand experience requirements for the Driver Shuttle Doubles DOT:
•High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)preferred
•At least 1 year of DOT driving experiencerequired
•Valid Class "A" CDL with Doubles endorsement
•Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulationsrequired
•Ability to read and interpret rules/guidelines,operating and maintenance instructions
•Good computer skills
•Ability to learn internal applications i.e... BCand POD equipment
•Able to work outside in extreme temperatures(cold and hot)
