Driver - Non-Cdl Box Truck

Role Summary:

Digital Bridge is a Milwaukee based non-profit startup working to reduce e-waste and bridge the digital divide by repurposing used IT Assets.

The Driver is responsible for the safe and secure transportation of IT Equipment from the donor companies to the Digital Bridge warehouse. They spend 30 hours/week on the road performing pickups, and the remaining time assisting in the warehouse with recycling. Digital Bridge travels in an 8 hours radius. Most pick ups are local and are same day. There are overnight pickups where a hotel is provided. Overnight pickups are at maximum a two day commitment. The Driver goes through NAID AAA Certification training for handling customer data. Digital Bridge has a 20’ Izuzu Box Truck w/ Lift Gate that is reliable and easy to drive. All equipment is transported in rolling laundry cart sized bins.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Drive to and from pickup locations
• Arrive at pickup locations at the scheduled time
• Load customer’s equipment in bins or swap customer’s bins for empty bins
• Maintain truck including refueling, safety supplies, straps, bins, locks..
• Drive truck to scheduled maintenance appointments
• Drive truck to computer distribution events
• Follow NAID procedures on handling customer data
• Communicate clearly with site contacts and be respectful of customer facilities.
• Fill out transfer form electronically with site contact
• Communicate with scheduling team with updates to pickup times or changes to customer needs.

• Help promote Digital Bridge’s mission of reducing e-waste and bridging the digital divide.
• Assist in warehouse as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Driver
• A valid driver’s license
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Basic knowledge of IT equipment preferred
• Attention to detail
• A polite and professional disposition
• Not convicted of a theft in last 7 years
• All candidates considered will have a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and a physical exam.
