The driver is responsible for the delivery of bulk clean linen to customers and the pick-up of bulk soiled linen. Operates medium and heavy weight trucks. Loads, transports and unloads other materials and supplies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Operate medium and heavy weight trucks to pick up and deliver linens.
- Load and unload truck by hand as directed and assist in loading and unloading of large quantities of soiled and/or clean linens.
- Follow a predetermined schedule of pickup and delivery according to customer expectations.
- Inspect truck and supplies such as lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water and maintains a record of work completed.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and safe operating condition. Inspect and clean the interior of the trailer and cab at the end of each shift.
- Must know and obey all traffic laws, and practice safe driving skills at all times.
- Demonstrate responsibility to work for extended periods of time without direct supervision.
- Follow infection control policy when transporting clean/soiled linens.
- Demonstrates customer relations skills
- Accepts responsibility for customer satisfaction by delivering on time at the right dock and placing carts in the assigned areas.
- Physical job tasks include: continuous standing and walking; able to sit for a period of time in a vehicle; able to lift up to 50lbs; able to push carts weighing up to 500lbs across dock and onto a tailgate or vice versa; able to bend and twist from side to side while maneuvering linen carts.
- Cross trained in various laundry positions to be able to help as needed.

- Hours: Monday-Friday 2 am - 10:30 am and rotating Saturdays
What you will need:
- Current valid Illinois “C” license required
- Customer service; read, speak and understand English fluently; work cooperatively in a team environment; work within strict time periods and at times under extreme pressure; organized, accurate, thorough and detail oriented.
- One year of truck driving experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience is preferred
