Job Description
Reports To: Warehouse Manager/Assistant Warehouse Manager/Dispatcher
Role: This position has the day-to-day responsibility to deliver goods to and from job sites in an organized, efficient, and safe manner in line with procedures set by the company. This includes working with Dispatch, Warehouse Leadership, Foreman and Project Managers as a working driver. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager/Assistant Warehouse Manager/Operations Manager as well.
Primary Responsibilities: Non-inclusive as follows:
· Pre-Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and reports them to the WM/AWM.
· Takes pride in Company Owned/Operated equipment and ensures it is taken care of.
· Ensure that the load is safe and secure.
· Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps.
· Transport product to and from job sites in a safe and timely manner.
· Assist in the unloading and loading of product, equipment, tools, and dunnage.
· Obtain delivery acceptance signatures when required.
· Contact the Warehouse/Dispatch after every delivery.
· Maneuver trucks into assigned loading docks.
· Assist in the unload of product, equipment, tools, and dunnage at the end of your shift.
· Report to Warehouse Personnel the origin of said product, equipment, tools, and dunnage.
· Reports any major or unresolved vehicle and/or equipment issues with the AWM/WM.
· Seeks opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operation.
· Support the general efforts of the company in all areas and cooperate with all staff.
· Keep AWM/WM informed of the requirements needed to fulfill all tasks with enough notice for the manager to provide.
Qualifications:
· Proven work experience as a Truck Driver, Minimum 2 years.
· 21 years or older.
· Ability to lift 75lbs.
· Pallet jack experience.
· Forklift experience preferred.
· Extensive knowledge of truck driving rules and DOT regulations.
· Clean Driving Record.
· No DUI/DWI convictions in the past seven years.
· Valid Driving License
· Able to pass random drug tests
· Valid DOT Card
· Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations including traffic, weather, etc.
· Demonstrated abilities in customer service, vendor interaction, record maintenance, and process improvement.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Spanish Speaking a plus
