Driver And Laborer

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to fill a Construction Support Driver for a client located in Portland, Oregon who specializes in remodeling.

We're looking for someone who enjoys a fast paced environment and who can support the construction teams by delivering materials and large tools, maintaining daily logs and documentation, and keeping things moving safely and efficiently while helping the teams with general labor work when not delivering materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIIES

• Travel to job sites to transport materials, waste and large tools - both delivery and removals

• Able to drive with a small trailer attached to a street vehicle -- backing up skills needed!

• Assist with debris removal from job sites to truck and at dump as well

• Physically able to perform manual labor like heavy loading and unloading of materials

• Able to follow safety rules and regulations in place, report safety hazards

• Able to secure the construction materials using chains, strapping and blocking under established DOT guidelines

• Able to track and record info by uploading pictures, receipts and safety notes and feedback

• Able to use mapping software on trips to assist you with travel times

• Perform other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in construction a PLUS

• 1 year experience moving, loading and unloading is preferred

• Minimum 6 years driving experience - 1 year in similar role preferred

• Must be able to communicate with others

• Strong attention to detail

• Able to navigate unexpected obstacles and issues on job sites

• Able to work independently and with a good team!

OTHER QUALIFCATIONS

• Must be able to be insurable by company auto insurance

• Drug screening and background check

• Able to learn new software skills as company works to streamline processes

• Feel comfortable asking questions if you aren't sure of something

• Able to handle the physical aspects of the job
