The primary duties of this position are:
- Assist a Drill Rig Operator in performance of assigned duties.
- Help set up, align, operate and maintain drilling machines, drilling support equipment and drilling systems, including a variety of top head rotary Drill Rigs, rig tenders, core barrels and drill rods.
- Set casing or reinforcing materials.
- Fuel and lubricate before or during operations and helps clean, lubricate, adjust and repair equipment when not operating.
- Safety is a critical component of this job. Work requires wearing personal protective equipment such as hardhat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, sleeved shirts and long pants even in extreme heat. A safety harness will be worn at all times while working in the crow's nest, helper's deck or while more than 4 feet above the ground. The incumbent is responsible for complying with safety instructions and regulations, ensuring individual's safety, and promptly reporting unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and accidents to supervisor.
Physical Effort: Work is extremely physical and involves handling, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving heavy drilling equipment. There are also prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, pushing, climbing, reaching and pulling.

How You Will Be Evaluated
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement.
